your birth and the visible world

【memory of birth】

Do you remember when you were born?

Some say, "I remember," while others say, "I have memories of before I was born."

At least most people would answer "I don't remember".

I'm sure you are too.

Why?

It's because the circuits needed to "remember" your experiences were underdeveloped.

However, the lack of "memory" does not mean that there was no "consciousness".

As a baby, you must have had many experiences through your five senses.

No, the experience may begin in the "fetal" period, even before the baby, or even earlier.

【when were you born】

When the sperm enters the egg, the flagella and mitochondria that were the driving force disappear, leaving 23 chromosomes.

A fertilized egg is born by pairing this with the same number of chromosomes in the egg.

This is how "your body" was born, although it is still a single cell.

"Your body", which was just one cell, will grow into a multicellular lifeform with over 3 trillion cells by the time you are born.

That's not all.

In just 10 months, "your body" will go through 3.5 billion years of life history evolution from single-celled animals to sponges, fish, reptiles, and mammals in the mother's womb.

As cell division progresses, an intestinal tract is formed to penetrate the body to absorb nutrients from food, tissue groups to absorb oxygen, pipelines that serve as transportation routes to each cell, and sources of transportation power. A muscular system is formed to pump and to bring food into the body, and a nervous system to coordinate these activities is set in motion.

In this way, "your body" differentiates and grows into cell groups with many specialized functions.

By the way, "your body" is steadily developing, but at what point is "you" born?

As I mentioned last time, “you” consists of the “ego area”, the “conscious area”, and the “unconscious area”.

Among these, the existence of "consciousness" is what separates the "area of consciousness" from the "area of unconsciousness", and in this blog, "the state without consciousness" is simply defined as "unconsciousness".

In that case, it can be said that all matter is in a state of "unconsciousness".

Quantum has information that expresses its state, but this is also information in the "unconscious realm".

And the quantum that makes up "your body" has existed for 13.8 billion years before you were born.

Nerve organs are also substances composed of quanta, so the information is in the "unconscious realm", but the neural organs "sense", "integrate", and "process" the input information from the internal and external environment and send it to each organ. It has a function to output various instructions, and part of the information in this flow rises as "consciousness".

So, somewhere in the development of your nervous system, your "consciousness" must have been born.

Also, the birth of the "ego" (more on that later), which is the continuous sense of consciousness, must await the development of your memory circuits.

Through these stages, “you” was born.

【Is the world you see real?】

Isn't it strange?

You can only see the outside world through the small window in which the two eyeballs are stored.

Sounds, smells, tastes, if you don't have information about them in your body, you won't even know their existence.

You can't know the temperature of the air or things around you unless they touch your skin.

No, you can't go outside that little body.

If all your five senses were shut out, would your world disappear?

No, even in a silent world without light, as long as you think something, your world will not disappear.

This is because the five senses are nothing more than organs that transmit external information to you, and even if the input information from the outside is cut off, the "you" inside does not immediately disappear.

However, you can only see this world from the input information of the five senses.

Moreover, the world you see is not real.

For example, consider vision.

The space you live in is made up of three dimensions.

However, what you see is a two-dimensional image formed on the retina of your eye.

Although it is converted into a 3D image in the brain, it is not a "real" image, but a synthetic image.

And since humans only have three types of visual cells, you're not seeing "real" colors, but a composite image edited with the three primaries.

In other sensory organs as well, the "real thing" is simplified and conveyed to the brain in the same way as vision.

Using this simplified external information, you are constructing your own model of the "world" in your brain.

In this blog, we define this model as the "brain world model".

This "brain world model" is constantly updated with external information obtained from the five senses.

In other words, what you see through your five senses is the "brain world model", not the "real" world.

But don't despair.

Beyond the physical limits of the “five senses”, you can understand various things.

For example, you can "think" about invisible molecules and atoms, the internal structure of the earth, the composition of planets tens of thousands of light years away, or even the beginning of the universe you live in.

The important thing is that the world you take for granted on a daily basis is the world that only you see through you.

This is a passage from a famous novel.

"It's very easy.

You can't see things well unless you see them with your heart.

The most important thing is what you can't see."
